Accessibility Policy
Accessibility of Virilion.com
It is our priority to make this site accessible for all of our visitors. With this objective in mind we developed Virilion.com to comply with the letter and the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Various considerations for enhancing accessibility of this site have been addressed, including:
Providing text equivalents for every non-text element (such as images and multimedia); Ensuring that all information conveyed with color is also available without color; Creating a logical tab order through links, form controls, and objects; Providing headings that allow users (particularly for those using screen reader products) to "skip" over
navigation options directly to page content; Using HTML header elements to convey document structure and using them according to specification; Using navigation mechanisms in a consistent manner; Ensuring that foreground and background color combinations provide sufficient contrast when viewed by someone having color deficits or when viewed on a black and white screen; and Separating site structure from presentation elements by using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
Page Layout
The following is a general description of the page layout of Virilion.com.
The Virilion Logo is found in the upper left-hand corner of every page and serves as a link back to the home page. The header features two rows that are presented consistently across all pages. The top row links to "Text Size" where you can increase or decrease the font size on the page and "Search". The bottom row is the global navigation spans across the top of the page and links to “Who We Are”, "What We Do," "How We Do It," "Our Work" and "Contact Us". The Home Page is divided into multiple sections.The top is interactive flash section that shows what we do. Below the message are two boxes. The first describes what we do and the second shows one of our case studies. Below the flash section is two columns of information.
The left column displays the latest insight and news the right column has a login for our clients. The footer of the page contains terms of use, privacy policy, accessibility policy and copyright notice information. Each of "section pages" on the site contains the same header and footer elements as described above. These pages are also organized into three columns. The first column on the left contains the navigation links relating to that section; the center column contains the section content; the right column contains related links for that section.
